Day 1
ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO

Arrival at Ivato International Airport. Welcome and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2
THE MYSTERIOUS AVENUE OF THE BAOBABS

We flight to Morondava to find ourselves immersed in a natural setting that is unique in the world, the Avenue of the Baobabs. Here, the baobabs line up perfectly and naturally on both sides of the dirt track, offering an absolutely unforgettable landscape. The atmosphere becomes especially magical at sunrise or sunset, when the sky is tinged with striking colors that provide these ancient giants with a grandiose backdrop.

One of the most beautiful sunsets on Earth will remain etched in our memory forever.

Day 3
CROSSING THE TSIRIBIHINA RIVER

We head towards the impressive Gran Tsingy de Behemara National Park. About 100 km north of Morondava, we will cross the Tsiribihina River by ferry and continue along the dirt track to the banks of the Manambolo River, the natural border of the park.

Note: the route to Tsingy de Bemaraha is very demanding, with stretches of sand mixed with rocky sections and others of bumpy dirt road, sometimes muddy. Only suitable for the most adventurous with similar experience.

Day 4
GRAND TSINGY DE BEMARAHA NATIONAL PARK

An extraordinary day awaits us, immersing us in the depths of one of the most authentic places on Earth.

Our journey begins by gliding in a traditional canoe along the waters of the Manambolo River, where we will contemplate its unique gorges in absolute calm.

After this waterborne excursion, we head to the majestic gates of the Grand Tsingy De Bemaraha, where we will trek through these enigmatic rock formations for an unforgettable experience. Guided by our courage and secured by harnesses, we become the amazed actors in a spectacle orchestrated by the beauty of nature.

In the heart of the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, we discover a preserved sanctuary of flora and fauna endemic to this part of the island. The Great Tsingy of Bemaraha reveal mysterious canyons, deep gorges, secret caves, sandstone peaks of varying hues, limestone and granite massifs sculpted over time by water and wind.

Note: this trek is only authorized for those who are physically fit and do not suffer from vertigo.

Day 5
KIRINDY FOREST RESERVE

We return to the dirt track to head to the Kirindy Forest Reserve, one of the few corners of the island where Madagascar's largest endemic mammal, the fossa, can be found.

At dusk, we will venture into the reserve to observe the nocturnal species that inhabit it.

The Kirindy Forest Reserve is also home to the giant jumping rat and six species of lemurs, including the tiny mouse lemur, the smallest primate on the planet. The spectacle also extends to the sky, with 45 species of birds flying above the canopy. And in the secret nooks and crannies of the reserve lives the rare Malagasy flat-tailed tortoise, along with 31 other species of reptiles.

Day 6
MENABE, THE REGION BATHE IN RED

At dawn, we set off to encounter diurnal species as the grand finale to our stay in Kirindy.

Afterwards, we continued along the dirt track, leaving behind western Madagascar with its giant baobab trees to begin our journey to the country's highlands.

The changing landscape transforms as we approach the Menabe region, characterized by the intense red color of its soil.

Day 7
THE COLONIAL CITY OF ANTSIRABE

The city of Antsirabe is known for its hot springs, colonial-style architecture, and avenues lined with historic buildings.

Among its landmarks are the Notre-Dame de la Salette Cathedral, with its distinctive architecture, and Independence Avenue, Antsirabe’s main thoroughfare, featuring iconic buildings such as the train station and the post office.

In this city, you can also see the famous biciricks and pousse-pousse, true symbols of Antsirabe. Used as a means of local transportation, they contribute fully to the city’s bustling atmosphere and offer an authentic and enjoyable way to get around and discover its different neighborhoods.

Day 8
TREKKING IN THE WORLD OF THE ZAFIMANIRY

A real dance along dirt tracks leads us to the unexpected and the authentic.

The adventure takes on a new dimension when we arrive at our meeting point with the staff who will accompany us for the next two days: a trek through the captivating world of the Zafimaniry. We leave everyday life behind to immerse ourselves in the heart of this unspoiled village, Sakaivo, where we take refuge in a local hut for the night.

The murmur of the wind as it crosses the rice fields lulls us to sleep, creating a harmonious symphony with the essence of the Zafimaniry culture. A culture based on simplicity and perfect harmony with nature. Every moment tells a profound and ancestral story.

Day 9
AMBOSITRA

After breakfast, we take the trail that will lead us to Antoetra, from where we will depart in our vehicle to meet up with the RN7 route.

The small town of Ambositra, located in the highlands, has the largest Zafimaniry craft market in the country.

Day 10
TRITRIVA VOLCANIC LAKE

Our stay in Madagascar continues with a visit to the mystical Lake Tritriva, nestled in the crater of an ancient volcano. A breathtaking spectacle unfolds before our eyes, as the waters of the lake extend to a depth of more than 160 meters.

This place is charged with a unique energy, with stories that we will hear from the mouths of the natives of this place.

Day 11
PEYRIERAS RESERVE

Sunrise offers us an adventure waiting to be discovered. We head east to the Peyrieras Reserve, a haven of biodiversity. Named after its founder, the Peyrieras Reserve is home to a large number of insects, reptiles, amphibians, and milano butterflies, species that are difficult to see in the national parks in this part of the island.

As evening falls, a special experience awaits us before dinner. A night tour will allow us to explore the life of reptiles of different shapes and sizes and mysterious amphibians. We will also meet the curious microcebus, the world's smallest primate, and other nocturnal lemurs.

Day 12
ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK

An exceptional day awaits us, full of unique experiences in contact with nature. Our morning takes us to the Analamazaotra Special Reserve, nestled in the heart of Andasibe National Park. It is here that the unique charm of Malagasy wildlife is revealed. In the heart of this reserve, the Indri, the largest of the lemurs, dances among the trees. If we are lucky, we will be able to hear its haunting song, a natural melody that touches the heart.

In the afternoon, we will continue our journey in this unique environment by visiting another reserve where other animal species live in harmony with their surroundings.

Night is falling, but the sweet excitement of this day remains etched in our minds, a tender and natural memory that will accompany our dreams.

Day 13
TRANSFER TO ANTANANARIVO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

With mixed emotions, we headed to the airport to catch our return international flight.

Traveling in Madagascar

Madagascar is the fourth largest island on the planet, with an area larger than Spain, and its infrastructure is very different from what we are used to. Its road network is very limited and the condition of the roads often means that it takes quite a long time to travel between two destinations.

The pace of life in Madagascar is dictated by daylight hours, with the day beginning between 5:00 and 6:30 a.m., when it is dawn or has already dawned, and ending at 6:30 p.m., when it is completely dark and coincides with the local dinner time.

National parks and reserves usually open their doors early, normally between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m., in order to take advantage of the most active time for daytime wildlife, which is usually in the early morning.

We will soon adapt to this Malagasy rhythm, which, although sometimes unusual for us, allows us to make the most of the daylight hours for visits and travel between destinations and to take advantage of the hours of darkness to rest, sleep, and recharge our batteries for the next day.

Passport and Visa

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Madagascar and have at least 3 blank pages.

A visa is required in all cases and can be obtained directly at the international airport upon arrival in the country. The cost depends on the length of your stay in the country.

Currency and Exchange

The country's currency is the Ariary (MGA). In most destinations, it is necessary to pay in cash with local currency, as card payments are not common.

It is possible to exchange money at the international airport and at banks during business hours. In the country's main towns, there are ATMs where you can withdraw money with your credit card (Visa/Mastercard).

International Vaccination Center

No vaccinations are required to enter Madagascar, provided that the traveler is not coming from a country where yellow fever is endemic, in which case only the yellow fever vaccination is necessary. For more information, consult the international vaccination center in your country of origin.

Pharmacies in the country's major cities stock all types of medication, although it is advisable to bring any necessary medication with you from your country of origin.
