Arrival in Antananarivo. Meet and greet at Ivato International Airport by our dedicated staff, followed by a private transfer to our hotel.
At dawn, we’ll begin a day of discovery as we head east. Our destination is the Peyrieras Reserve, a haven of biodiversity named after its founder. This unique setting offers us a rare opportunity to observe lemurs, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and the ethereal milano butterfly—natural treasures that are almost impossible to spot elsewhere in the region.
As the day fades, the jungle transforms to offer us a magical experience. Under the cover of night, we’ll embark on a nocturnal exploration to discover the secret lives of fascinating reptiles and amphibians. The highlight will be an encounter with the mouse lemur—the world’s smallest primate—alongside other enigmatic lemur species that only awaken with the stars.
An exceptional day awaits us, a feast for the senses in perfect harmony with nature at its purest.
The morning takes us to the sanctuary of the Analamazaotra Special Reserve, a hidden treasure in the heart of Andasibe National Park. It is in this setting that Madagascar’s wildlife reveals its most authentic charm; there, beneath the canopy of ancient trees, the Indri—the most majestic of the lemurs—dances with an almost mystical agility. With a stroke of luck, we will witness its haunting call: an ancient, profound melody that reverberates through the jungle and is irrevocably etched into the traveler’s soul.
As the sun sets, we will prolong our idyll in this privileged setting by visiting an adjacent reserve, a haven of peace where diverse species coexist in perfect harmony. As twilight begins to envelop the landscape, the serene emotion of the experience remains latent within us; a tender and organic memory that, like an echo of the jungle, will gently accompany us until we rest.
We begin our return to the capital to uncover the secrets of the Ambohimanga Citadel, a cultural treasure designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the top of this royal hill, where time seems to have stood still, an imposing architectural complex awaits us, one that transcends history. Beyond its ancient fortress and necropolis, the sacred hill guards a mystical universe of spiritual sites, silent witnesses to Malagasy sovereignty and profound spirituality.
Spend a leisurely day at this peaceful retreat overlooking the Indian Ocean—the perfect place for total relaxation or for discovering the island’s secrets through the various activities offered by the accommodations.
During July, August, and part of September, Sainte Marie becomes a home for humpback whales. It’s a captivating spectacle that makes for an unforgettable experience.
A free day to continue enjoying this idyllic spot.
Transfer to Sainte Marie Airport for the return flight to Antananarivo.
From the airport, we head to the commercial heart of the capital: Analakely Market. Under the eternal gaze of the white arcades of Independence Avenue, we immerse ourselves in an unparalleled sensory experience. It is a setting where everyday Malagasy life unfolds in all its purity; there, among the stalls covered by colorful umbrellas that resemble canvas flowers, a feast of aromas—cloves, cinnamon, and local spices—unfolds.
Strolling through its aisles is like participating in a dance of gestures and encounters, where brightly colored textiles and raffia crafts vie for our attention. As the sun sets, golden light bathes the market, lending a patina of nobility to the ceaseless activity. We leave with our spirits filled by the warmth of its people and the echo of voices that, like an urban melody, gently accompany us toward rest, imprinting upon us the authentic magnetism of the heart of Madagascar.
With mixed feelings, we headed to the airport to catch our return international flight.
This farewell day is filled with a symphony of memories that will stay with us forever.

Traveling in Madagascar
Madagascar boasts a surprisingly vast land area and a unique geography that invites you to travel at a leisurely pace. Due to the nature of its roads, journeys between destinations become leisurely drives, allowing you to enjoy the scenery at a more relaxed pace than what we’re used to.
The pace of life in Madagascar is dictated by daylight hours, with the day beginning between 5:00 and 6:30 a.m., when it is dawn or has already dawned, and ending at 6:30 p.m., when it is completely dark and coincides with the local dinner time.
National parks and reserves usually open their doors early, normally between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m., in order to take advantage of the most active time for daytime wildlife, which is usually in the early morning.
We will soon adapt to this Malagasy rhythm, which, although sometimes unusual for us, allows us to make the most of the daylight hours for visits and travel between destinations and to take advantage of the hours of darkness to rest, sleep, and recharge our batteries for the next day.
Passport and Visa
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Madagascar and have at least 3 blank pages.
A visa is required in all cases and can be obtained directly at the international airport upon arrival in the country. The cost depends on the length of your stay in the country.
Currency and Exchange
The country's currency is the Ariary (MGA). In most destinations, it is necessary to pay in cash with local currency, as card payments are not common.
It is possible to exchange money at the international airport and at banks during business hours. In the country's main towns, there are ATMs where you can withdraw money with your credit card (Visa/Mastercard).
International Vaccination Center
No vaccinations are required to enter Madagascar, provided that the traveler is not coming from a country where yellow fever is endemic, in which case only the yellow fever vaccination is necessary. For more information, consult the international vaccination center in your country of origin.
Pharmacies in the country's major cities stock all types of medication, although it is advisable to bring any necessary medication with you from your country of origin.
